Design

The Outlander’s understated exterior design features smooth lines and a sense of rugged capability thanks to its high ground clearance and muscular proportions. Its nose is characterised by a wide, slim grille and shapely headlights, while roof bars improve its overall practicality.

Inside, you can quickly get comfortable thanks to a height-adjustable seat and tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel. This driving position is elevated, too, offering a good view of the road ahead. Able to carry seven, it offers plenty of head- and legroom for taller passengers, or accommodates up to 1,022 litres of luggage space with the second and third row seats folded.

Engines and performance

The Outlander can be specified with either a petrol or diesel engine, the latter of which provides 147bhp and manages up to 53.3mpg and produces CO2 emissions from only 139g/km – highly impressive for a vehicle of its size. Petrol options, meanwhile are strong and flexible, proving ideal for shorter trips and off-road control. Four-wheel drive comes as standard, meaning you can face poor weather and surface conditions head-on.

Technology & Safety

The Mitsubishi Outlander comes well-equipped, with features such as rear parking sensors, dusk-sensing headlights and dual-zone climate control available from ‘3’ trim. Standard entertainment measures include a six-speaker sound system with DAB radio, a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity.

Awarded a maximum five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP, the Outlander is well-equipped to keep you protected. There’s Brake Assist, Emergency Stop Signal System and Hill-start Assist, as well as a body safety system called Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE), which provides the vehicle with a number of crumple zones that help to absorb the energy generated by high-impact collisions.
